Malaysian airlines operates a fleet of 76 aircraft. The airline also has 40 aircraft on order. The airline’s fleet consists mostly of Boeing 737-800s which they use on their regional and domestic routes. The airline uses their Airbus A380-800s and A330-300s on their long haul flights.
Malaysia Airlines has announced that they will waive flight change fees for Malaysians with bookings that full within the upcoming 14th General Election. The airline says that they will be waiving the fare to help Malaysians fulfil their responsibility as voting. All tickets with departure dates from 8 to 10 May inbound or outbound can change their flight date free of charge.
Carry on baggage
Travellers are allowed one bag and one personal item. Your carryon luggage may not weigh more than 5kgs. All carryon luggages must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
Checked baggage
Economy class passengers are entitled to 30kg of free check in baggage. Business class passengers are entitled to 40kg and first class to 50kg. All passengers are allowed to check in two bags as long as the combined weight does not exceed the maximum weight allowance of their cabin class.
You are required to check in 2 hours before departure for international flights and 1 hour for domestic flights. There is also a self-service, web and mobile check in option.
Malaysian Airlines allows travelling with pets. Pets travelling with passengers must be checked in at the ticket counter.
