18/04/2018Cathay Pacific is planning on revamping their food menus for both their lounges in Hong Kong and their in-flight food offerings. The airline will also adapt a new and more flexible eating times in business class. The airline’s food offerings have lately been seen as a weakness for the airline, which they are not planning on upgrading.
Carry on baggage
Cathay Pacific allows passengers to take some non-traditional travelling items as part of your carry on baggage. Cathay offers economy, business and first class seating, each with its own carry on baggage allowance.
If you are flying economy class, you are allowed to carry 1 piece of baggage with you. The maximum weight for carry-on baggage is 7 kg. The total dimensions may not exceed 115 cm. Business class flyers are allowed 1 piece of carry-on luggage with a maximum weight of 10 kilograms. The total dimensions may not exceed 115 cm. First class travellers may have 1 piece of carry-on luggage with a maximum weight of 15 kilograms. The total dimensions may not exceed 115 cm.
Checked baggage
Checked baggage restrictions vary according to class. Class baggage allowance varies based on your destination. Economy class flyers are allowed one to two items of checked baggage. Items may not exceed 20 kilograms per piece. The total dimensions may not exceed 158 cm per piece. Business class flyers are allowed one to two items of checked baggage. Items may not exceed 30 kilograms per piece. The total dimensions may not exceed 158 cm per piece. First class flyers are allowed one to two items of checked baggage. Items may not exceed 40 kilograms per piece. The total dimensions may not exceed 158 cm per piece. If you are travelling with an infant, you are entitled to an additional item of checked baggage. The item may not exceed 23 kilograms and the dimensions may not total more than 115 cm.
Cathy Pacific suggests travellers arrive 2 1/2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, when checking in at the airport. Check-in counters close approximately 40 minutes prior to departure time. Departure gates close at least 20 minutes prior to departure time.
Online check in is available from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Online check in allows travellers to select a seat, change seating, add or update your Frequent Flyer Number, get a check in confirmation voucher, and get the latest departure and weather information.
Travellers will collect boarding passes check-In kiosks. Bags will be dropped at the dedicated online check-in counters at the airport.
Cathay Pacific offers three seating options namely; economy, business and first class.
Economy class seats have their own shell and slide forward instead of reclining into the seat behind. This ensures that no one in front of you will intrude into your space. All seats have 9″ widescreen TVs. Televisions feature an extensive rotating library of 100 movies, 350 TV shows, 888 music CDs, 22 radio channels and entertainment channels.
Business class seating offers exceptional comfort and privacy, guaranteeing a pleasurable flight. Seats have massage functions and easy access to the aisles. At the touch of a button your seat turns into a perfect flat bed. There is a host of entertainment and news channels to choose from on your personal television screens.
First class seating is characterized by an abundance of space, exceptional food, incredible entertainment and personalised service. First class features 81 inch long flat beds. Seats have massage functions, extendable side seats and drop-down armrests. There is a host of entertainment and news channels to choose from on your personal television screens.
Cathay Pacific operates a all inclusive service which means that all food and drink costs are included in your airfare.
Cathay Pacific does allow travelling with pets. Pets will be carried in the aircraft hold provided they are placed in a suitable container for transportation.
Only service dogs are permitted in Cathay Pacific passenger cabin. Domestic pets such as dogs, cats and birds are crated and transported in the cargo compartment.
Each animal must be placed in a container that has enough space for the animal to turn about normally while standing. The ventilation openings must be small enough so that paws/nose cannot protrude outside the container, but big enough that they can get enough oxygen. The container must be lockable.
Charges differ for pets depending on the size of container, weight of your pet and distance being travelled. Additional handling, local government and customs clearance charges may apply.
