And then in 1934, Lufthansa was the first company to deliver mail across the South Atlantic. They increased their reach during the later 1930s to cities that includedBangkok and Santiago de Chile. But this comes to a halt at the end of World War II when Lufthansa went into receivership and then got liquidated.
Aktiengesellschaft / Luftverkehrsbedarf was formed in 1953 but they changed their name to Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft in 1954. They reinstated their services to the Americas and the Middle East in 1955.
Lufthansa currently have a fleet of 274 aircraft, the majority of which are Airbus A320-200’s, Airbus A320-200’s, and Airbus A319-100’s.
