Carry-on baggage

Passengers are allowed one carry-on bag on all Air France flights. Along with the carry-on bag passengers are also allowed to carry on a personal accessory. Handbags, laptop bags, briefcases and camera bags are considered personal accessories. The weight of your hand baggage may not exceed 12kg.

Checked baggage

Economy and Premium Economy class passengers are allowed 23kg of checked baggage while Business and La Premiere class passengers are allowed 32kg of checked baggage. Two bags are allowed but the combined weigh must not be more than the baggage allowance for each class.

Air France online check in opens 24 hours before and closes 3 hours before departure. Airport check in opens 3 hours before and closes 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure.

Air France operates a 4 tier class option on their flights to South Africa. Passengers can book flights in economy, premium economy, business and La Premium (first) class.

Air France does allow passengers to fly with pets in the cargo hold if they can produce proper documentation and veterinarian certificates to the airline. If the animal and its container weighs more than 75kg it will need to be flown as freight as it will not be allowed on the flight.
