29/03/2016The pilot of the flight that was hijacked and forced to fly to Cyprus recently stated that the hijacker never gained access to the cockpit of the aircraft. The hijacker threatened to blow up the aircraft if his demands weren’t met. The suicide vest he wore turned out to be fake. The hijacker game himself over to the police without incident hours after the ordeal started.
Carry on baggage
You are allowed to carry 1 bag with you on the flight for no charge. The maximum weight must not exceed 8 kg. In addition to that, you may carry personal items like laptops etc.
Checked baggage
Economy class passengers are allowed 2 pieces of baggage that cannot exceed the weight of 23kg each. Business class passengers are allowed 2 bags that may not weigh more than 32kg each. First class passengers are allowed 3 checked bags that may weigh up to 32kg each.
Egypt Air requires the traveller to be present, at the airport of departure, for check in at least 120 minutes prior to schedule departure time. Online check in opens 48 hours and closes 90 minutes before departure.
EgyptAir offers 3 options for seating on their flights; economy class, business class and first class. Economy class legroom is 32 inches between seats. Business class legroom is 38-48 inches between seats. First class is 62 inches between seats. Seats may be pre-booked.
As Egyptair is an all inclusive airline, all food and drink costs will be included in your airfare.
Allows travelling with pets. Pets travelling with passengers must be checked in at the ticket counter.
